Applying to FCS

Friends' Central admits the best-qualified applicants without regard to religious, national, or racial background. When selecting applicants, the Admission Committee considers a number of factors. In addition to admission testing, school achievement, and a classroom visit, the Committee takes into account the student's ability to handle college preparatory work and to show good citizenship. Admission decisions are announced in late January, with a reply date of March 1st. From then on, students are admitted on a rolling admission basis as long as spaces exist. Preference is given to the siblings of current students, Quakers, and the children of alumni/ae.

Admission decisions are made without regard to need for financial aid. Substantial financial aid is available, but competition is keen. We advise parents to request financial aid at the time of their initial inquiry.
