Visual Arts

Visual arts students are offered a variety of courses that provide both conceptual and concrete opportunities for skill development. Whether in the full-year major courses of ceramics, woodworking, and photography, or the two levels of studio art (drawing & painting), students learn foundation skills through imaginative exercises culminating in finished work. The Student Art Gallery in Shallcross Hall offers a continuous, regularly changing exhibition of student work. Minor, trimester-long courses in drawing and art appreciation are also required for 9th and 10th grade students.
