Dear Friends,

Friends’ Central School has learned today that Brian Briggs, a 22-year old man who worked as a counselor at Friends’ Central Summer Camp on our City Avenue campus and also worked in our extended day program at our Lower School, was arrested in Delaware on Wednesday, August 6th.  Brian has been charged with being involved with child pornography through his computer at his home in Delaware.

At this time the School has no reason to believe that Brian Briggs was involved in any unlawful or inappropriate way with any child at the Friends’ Central Summer Camp or with any student at the School.  Nevertheless, Brian Briggs will not be returning to any employment at Friends’ Central School.

The School and its attorneys are closely monitoring this situation and will keep you informed of any significant development.

The School has always been extremely vigilant in an effort to protect all children under our care from suffering harm of any type, and we shall continue to do so.
