FCS Girls' Basketball Wins in PAISAA Opener
Posted 02/15/2017 02:11PM

On Tuesday, February 14th, #9 seed Friends' Central opened the Pennsylvania Independent Schools Athletic Association (PAISAA) basketball tournament on the road at #8 seed Springside Chestnut Hill. The Phoenix jumped out to an early lead and never looked back in route to the 71 - 51 victory. The win helped ease the memory of an earlier loss to SCH in December prior to the winter break.

Friends' Central was led by sophomores Raanee Smith's 24 points and 10 rebounds, and Nia Jordan with 18 points. Senior co-captain Sophie Berger added 11 points in the game while senior co-captain Zoe Ginsberg and freshman Gabby Carruth each tallied 8 points in the win.

The Phoenix advance to the second round of the PAISAA tournament with a 4:00 PM game on Friday, Feb. 17th at #1 seed Abington Friends.
