Ways to Help

The high caliber of Friends' Central's student body, faculty, and facilities is made possible by the generosity and dedication of our community. Gifts from parents, alumni/ae, and friends support daily School operations as well as major projects. The School is tremendously grateful to all who have given so generously. These gifts enable us to fulfill our mission as a leader among independent and Quaker Schools.

People give to Friends' Central in many ways. Each year we depend on Annual Giving gifts. These are gifts that support the day-to-day operations of the School, and for almost 2,000 people, Annual Giving is a tangible way to affirm their loyalty and commitment to Friends' Central. For capital projects, like the Fannie Cox Center and the Shimada Athletic Center, and to create endowment, we rely on larger gifts that are often pledged over a number of years. Planned, or estate gifts from alumni/ae, grandparents, and past parents have added to the quality of the Friends' Central experience in a number of ways. Endowed scholarships, faculty sabbaticals, and even Shallcross Hall itself have all been the result of estate gifts from forward thinking, loyal, and generous friends. The Pennsylvania Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program (EITC) offers businesses a way to support our financial aid program using tax credits.
