Letter From the Head of School

July 1, 2021

Dear Friends,

As I move into my new role as Interim Head of School, I want you to know that I am thinking of you, students, families, alumni/ae, and staff. I know that Friends’ Central’s greatest gift has always been the people who make up our community; therefore, I am writing to you to share my excitement about serving you and our beloved School.

Friends’ Central has a long tradition of academic excellence that is further strengthened by the power of our community and the passion of our teachers. During the coming year, I plan to immerse myself in the life of the School, capitalizing on opportunities to build school spirit and support progress in key areas. I will be listening for ideas that foster relevant, engaging, and high-level academic programs to best match the spirit of inquiry and energy for which Friends’ Central students and graduates are known. You can expect to see exciting progress across the divisions in key areas that have already begun, such as STEAM and equity, belonging, and inclusion. And I look forward to developing a full vision that builds on Plan 175 and incorporates new community thinking.

As a Friends’ Central alumna, I am filled with a special joy today. My own school spirit is brimming, maybe even overflowing! Please join me – get your FCS magnets on your cars, pick up a lawn sign, and tell your friends: Friends’ Central is on the move!

I look forward to seeing you!
