The Audrie Gardham Ulmer '37 Center for Innovation & Design

The new, state-of-the-art Audrie Gardham Ulmer ’37 Center for Innovation and Design (CID) addresses the growing demand for STEAM-based learning experiences at Friends’ Central School. Spanning approximately 6,800 square feet, the CID houses studios dedicated to design and prototyping, fabrication, technology and robotics. By leveraging alumni/ae expertise and forming partnerships with local organizations, the CID positions Friends’ Central as a leader in STEAM education and community engagement.

The most exciting part of transforming the Rex gymnasium thus far has been the range of community input in designing and building the space. Alumni/ae, current students, and staff have all been helping. I can’t wait to see the ways our students will innovate and the things they’ll build and create.”
