Sibling and Legacy Policy

Choosing a school for your child is an important decision, and we take great pride when alumni/ae, faculty, and staff apply to Friends’ Central for their children and when current parents/guardians apply for another child in their family. We honor this commitment to FCS by offering siblings and legacy families applying to any grade advance consideration under our Early Notification Plan (ENP).

You have until December 1, 2020, to submit the form indicating whether you would like your application to be considered under the ENP, otherwise, your application will be reviewed in our regular pool whereby the notification will be January 15, 2021.

Aside from the early notification option for applicants, we do not have a specific policy for our sibling, faculty, and alumni/ae families. All applicants to the school go through the same process and are evaluated with equal consideration by the admissions committee. There may be individual cases where the admissions committee deems that FCS would not be the appropriate school for a sibling/legacy/faculty/staff applicant; these extremely difficult decisions are always made with the child's best interests in mind. We strongly recommend that all families submit applications to at least two other schools.

Alumni/ae, faculty, and current families with children applying for proposed entry in September of 2021 are kindly asked to notify the admissions office at admissions@friendscentral.org.
