After-School Clubs (LS)

Friends’ Central Lower School is pleased to share our After-School Club offerings for the spring! After-School Clubs provide the opportunity to learn a new skill or nurture a budding passion. Spring clubs take place once a week from 3:05-4:05 pm and will run from Monday, April 8, 2024 through Thursday, May 23 ,2024.

In order to secure enrollment in a club, you must pay when you register; otherwise, your registration will be null and void. Spaces fill up quickly, so please pay at the time of registration in order to ensure confirmation for your child(ren). Registration is open now and closes on Wednesday, April 3, at 11:30 pm. There will be no extensions for club registration and no refunds on club fees. Each club is $150, with the exception of Cooking Club which is $160.

If students are not enrolled in Extended Day on the day of their club, they should be picked up promptly at 4:15 pm. Please note that students in mixed grade levels will be participating in clubs together. Club days will not be made up if the school is closed for any reason.

MONDAY CLUBS

Basketball Club with Coach Rudy Fabry 
Join us as we develop our basketball skills, team skills, and life skills. In basketball club, students will improve their ball handling skills and learn more about the fundamentals of the game. Basketball Club will focus on dribbling, passing, shooting, team drills, and various team games.
Grades 3, 4, 5 • Min. 8/Max. 12 students

Soccer Club with Teacher Parker Lawrence and Teacher Sam Choi
Soccer Club is for anyone who would like to learn how to play soccer or who already has a love for the sport! Students will learn and practice their foot work, passing, and shooting skills. Those skills will be applied when they engage in game-like situations and scrimmages. We will also develop skills in teamwork, communication, and sportsmanship.
Grades 1 and 2 • Min. 8/Max. 14 students

Art Club with Ms. Claudia Parra
In Art Club, we will explore some beautifully illustrated books and get inspired to create artwork that celebrates the art in literature. We will experiment with various materials and will make two-dimensional and 3D pieces. Students will have a chance to be creative and use their imagination while learning more about art.

TUESDAY CLUBS

Cooking Club with Teacher Robbie Goldwein
Get ready for part two of Cooking Club! We will learn more about amazing new foods, fruits, vegetables, and grains. Students will become familiar with kitchen/knife safety, recipe reading, nutrition, teamwork, and much more.
*Please note this will be an allergy-friendly cooking class*

WEDNESDAY CLUBS

Craft Club with Teacher Sevilla Kent and Teacher Trisha Phan
Craft Club is an opportunity to explore many levels of creativity. We will be working with many different materials independently and collaboratively. Each week will include a new and exciting craft project such as Perler bead artwork, dream catchers, backpack keychains, and so much more.
Grades K, 1, and 2 • Min. 8/Max. 14 students 

Dance/Cheer Club with Teacher Shamir Shaw
Dance/Cheer Club will continue in spring with more dance techniques for students to explore. Students will learn techniques in cheer, ballet, jazz, and hip-hop. They will engage in fun exciting dance moves, gain confidence, and more importantly, bond with friends within the School community.

THURSDAY CLUBS

Dance/Cheer Club with Teacher Shamir Shaw
Danc/Cheer Club will start off with beginner-level genres as we explore a wide range of dances. The club will rotate different dances biweekly (A-week) Ballet/Jazz (B-week) Hip-Hop and Tap. Students will also learn a few cheers throughout the club as well. This club will be exciting and fun as students learn the art of dancing and cheers.

Tee-Ball Club with Teacher Jasmine Kinsey and Teacher Julia Eaton
In Tee-Ball Club, our young students will begin to learn the fundamentals of baseball. Students will learn about ball catching, running bases, and how to hold a bat. Students will also learn about good sportsmanship, teamwork and more importantly how to have fun. Students should bring their own baseball cap to wear and a glove, if possible. Communal gloves and helmets will be available for the students.

Sabrina Johnson

Lower School Extended Day Program Director
Sabrina began her career at Friends’ Central in 2020 as our Social Justice Coordinator before becoming a first-grade assistant teacher in 2021. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies from Pennsylvania State University and has worked as a former Before and After Care School Program Manager in the Radnor Township School District. Sabrina is a shining light in the FCS community and we are fortunate to have her at the helm of our Extended Day program and After-School Clubs.
