Friends’ Central in National Middle School Team Squash Championships

The U.S. Middle School Team Squash Championships is one of the premier national tournaments for middle school squash teams, bringing together spirited competition from around the country each year. First held in 2008, the Championships have steadily grown in size and prestige, drawing well over 70 teams nationally to compete across multiple divisions during the winter squash season.

This year marked another exciting chapter for Friends’ Central, as our Middle School team traveled to the Arlen Specter US Squash Center in Philadelphia to compete against some of the top middle school squash teams in the nation. While Friends’ Central didn’t take home a championship title this year, we were proud to have taken part, and the experience was incredibly rewarding for all the players.

Friends’ Central has participated in the Squash Championships since 2018. Each year, this tournament presents an opportunity for our players to test themselves against new opponents, learn from each match, and grow as athletes, whether they’re seasoned competitors or newcomers to high-level squash.

At the 2026 Championship weekend, the Friends’ Central team demonstrated strong effort on every court. Nine players were represented on both the girls’ and boys’ teams, which included Julianna Kapeusznikl ‘30; Milly Garber ’31; Sarah Levy ’30; Miya Pines ’31; Sophie Minsky ’30; June Noel ’30; Kiran Harhay ’32 for the girls’ and Max Rodner ’31; Tony Brown ’32; Julian Henry ’31; Connor Quinn ’32; Teddy Geary ’32; CJ Berman ’32 and Marcel Onyango ’32 for the boys’.

As Friends’ Central reflects on this year’s U.S. Middle School Team Squash Championships, we celebrate the growth of our players and reaffirm our commitment to excellence in squash. With each match and every season, we continue to build toward greater achievements and stronger performances at future national events.
