Heather O'Rourke is New Head Coach for Varsity Girls Soccer

We are pleased to announce Heather O'Rourke will be taking over the girls varsity soccer program. Heather has committed to a life of soccer where she currently coaches at Steel United PA for the girls 2009 (U13) and 2005 (U17) Elite teams and the boys 2010 (U12) Elite team. The U17 team finished 2nd at Nationals for USYS Presidents Cup in 2021 and her U13 team finished 2nd in the USYS President Cup Regionals this summer.

Heather has been in the United States for about 10 years now. She received a BSc Honors at University West of Scotland and an MA in elementary education at Rosemont College. Heather holds a FAW C License as well as other coaching licenses. When not coaching soccer, Heather can be found spending time with her fur family. She spends her free time walking her 8-month-old puppy and trying to catch up on some well-earned rest with her two kittens.

Heather is looking forward to joining the Friends' Central School community. Looking ahead to August, Heather will hold a pre-preseason camp for girls' soccer from August 15-18 from 5-8pm at Friends' Central School. Preseason will begin on Monday, August 22 with an 8:30am meeting in the Shimada. Please mark your calendars and plan to attend. More details will be forthcoming.
