Friends’ Central grade 10 students received a visit from Holocaust survivor Michael Herskovitz on February 16. The event was made possible by the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia, who host Holocaust Education Programs.

Vernacchio actually has much bigger goals for the multiyear program that will unfold at Friends and, he hopes, expand to other schools one day, including higher ed."
Friends’ Central School is thrilled to announce that we have been awarded a $250,000 matching grant by the Edward E. Ford Foundation to support our leadership in a national conversation on Healthy Relationships and Consent Education.
As the country, and world, waits expectantly for the COVID-19 vaccine rollout, one of Friends’ Central’s own students was among the first to receive the much-needed vaccine. Senior Kayla Foy was a vaccine trailblazer when her ties to the medical community gave her the opportunity to help promote vaccination.

On January 8, James C. Wright, Clerk of the Board of Trustees, announced to the School community on behalf of the Board that Beth D. Johnson '77 will be stepping into the role of Interim Head of Friends' Central School beginning July 2021. Craig N. Sellers completes his nine-year tenure as Head of School at the end of this school year.

Congratulations to senior Ben Allen (trumpet) and sophomores Michael Chou (violin) and Claire Samaha (saxophone) on being selected to join the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) District 11 2020-2021. The students were chosen from a pool of hundreds of students who auditioned from schools across Bucks and Montgomery counties.

In the midst of their planetary unit, Deborah Skapik's Upper School Astronomy class had a stellar visit from cosmic scientist Dr. Jen Heldmann of NASA Ames on Tuesday, December 8.
